Please give generously to your choice of the following funds (click on any of
the funds for a description of how your dollars will make a difference):
You can designate your gift to be in honor of someone, in memory
of a loved one or friend, or in celebration of a simcha (such as a brit,
bar/bat mitzvah, engagement, marriage, retirement, get well, birthday,
anniversary, or an award or other honor), or as a thank you to someone
who did something nice for you or our congregation.
General
Fund
The General Fund keeps our Temple operating.
Building & Building Maintenance Fund
The
Building and Building Maintenance Fund is used to make payments of the mortgage and capital improvements
to the facility.
Special
Programs Fund
This fund was established with an anonymous donation in 1979/80 for unique
projects. It is maintained with contributions from Temple members and is
used to bring special performers or speakers to our community.

Endowment Fund
Gifts from Temple members of $5,000 or higher which which
are not otherwise designated by the donor for another fund or purpose are
deposited in this fund.
Religious School
Maintained
by contributions from congregants, Judaica Shop profits, and other fund raising
programs sponsored by Sisterhood, this
fund serves the general and special needs of the Temple Religious School.
Tree of Life
This
fund is maintained by financial contributions from congregants to honor
family members or Temple friends. Donations purchase and inscribe "Leaf," "Acorn,"
or "Stone" plaques installed on the wall outside the Chapel.
The proceeds in the Tree of Life Fund are transferred to the Endowment Fund prior to or in the last month of each
fiscal year.
Gan Fund
Maintained
by financial contributions from Temple members, this fund helps this preschool
program by supplementing Gan tuition payments, and is used for Gan staff and operating expenses.
Cantor Fund
This
fund is maintained
by contributions from congregants and helps to underwrite liturgical music and our cantorial soloist.
Library Fund
This
fund helps to purchase and
maintain books and periodicals for the Temple library.
Music Fund
This
fund was established
by a donation from the Reutlinger family, and is supported by contributions from
Temple members. It helps to bring special concerts to our community each year.
Rose Sherman Fund
This
fund was established in May 1991 by gifts from the Rose and William Sherman
estate.
Annual investment income and contributions from congregants are used to
help families of Temple youth requiring financial aid
to attend Jewish camps or educational programs.
Kitchen Fund
This
fund is maintained
by contributions from congregants and underwrites the cost of Temple kitchen
equipment repairs or purchase.
Rabbi's Fund
This
fund is maintained
by contributions from congregants to provide the Rabbi with a financial source for
assisting Temple or Tacoma community individuals needing special support.
Reach for the Stars Fund
To provide extraordinary, non-budgeted improvement to the quality
of Religious School education at Temple Beth El.
Rabbi
Richard Rosenthal Continuing Jewish Education Fund
To accumulate and distribute funds for the purpose of supporting and encouraging
educational opportunities that would be of benefit to Temple Beth El and the
Tacoma Jewish Community. Examples include but are not limited to scholarships
and financial support to teachers, students and congregants wishing to extend
their expertise in music, art, liturgy, Hebrew, Torah, leadership, education,
etc.
Barde Fund
The Barde Fund helps fund youth programs at Temple Beth El.
The Tuition Assistance
Program (TAP) was created to allow individuals to contribute to a
program that subsidizes the scholarship monies available for our Religious
School, Gan and summer camp programs.
