Sisterhood

We are women from all walks and stages of life who come together to make friends and have fun while making a difference in our homes, our congregation, and our community.

Sisterhood’s primary function is to support and maintain the Temple Beth El Religious School, so that Judaism may flourish in our community.

To become a part of our warm and dynamic group just complete the membership form (PDF).  Whether you come to meetings, programs, help us organize and plan events or just submit your dues, you are choosing to support Sisterhood.  Your level of participation is up to you, but please remember that a group of inspiring women await you, however you choose to participate.  Be counted as a woman of Reform Judaism.

2006-2007 accomplishments:

Look at what Sisterhood of Temple Beth El has done and will continue to do for YOUR TEMPLE, YOUR COMMUNITY and YOUR CHILDREN!

• Staffed and managed the Sisterhood Judaica Shop

• Donated $2,000 to Religious School and $4,000 to Temple last year.

• Back to School and end of year BBQ

• Provided Sunday bagel sales

• Break The Fast

• Decorated indoor Sukkah

• Hosted Latke Fry

• Purchased Chanukah gifts for all the Religious School and Gan students

• Passover sales

• Hosted Women’s Seder

• The Annual Sisterhood Shabbat & Oneg

• Presented a gift to each b’nai mitzvah

• PJ Party & Movie Night that collected PJs for foster kids

• Mah jongg lessons hosted by Sisterhood’s mah jongg Queens

• Participated in district and regional meetings and conventions

• Donated and baked Hamantaschen for Purim Carnival and Megillah Service

• Annual contributions to Jewish Braille Institute, World Union of Progressive Judaism, Circle of Service and YES Fund 

We are affiliated with the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) of the Union for Reform Judaism, and we support its institutions and camp programs.  As a member of Sisterhood you automatically become a member of the WRJ.
